About Laura

Hola! My name is Laura, I have been traveling a lot since I was a little girl. My Dad was a consummated Gypsy and took us everywhere in his pickup truck. We traveled all throughout Mexico and a big chunk of USA. Later in life I was able to do it by myself, I traveled through Europe, more of USA and a little bit of China.  Who am I? you may ask, well, I was born in Mexico in 1972 (uff!!) I had 2 crazy wonderful parents that love to travel. My Dad was from Spanish descent and my mom was half Spanish and half indigenous. From the side or her mother (my grandmother) as far as I know all the women in the house where ‘Curanderas’… exotic way to call us ‘witches’.  That alone carries a lot of side anecdotes that I don’t want to bore you with, but that made my life in many ways very interesting growing up.  I was raised in a very open-minded home, strange for someone that was raised by parent born in the 1930’s but non-the less very open minded. My parents always helped us to develop our ‘wings’ and to use them without fear, so my brothers and sister had traveled plenty as well. On my side, I’m an Architect and many years ago was brought to USA by a Landscape Architectural firm and that changed my life, I have a great deal of gratitude for my 2 bosses back then. Now I’m an American citizen with a heart divided in 2, the Mexican side and the American side. I’ve always been open to learn from people, from cultures, from my surroundings and from everything that I can. I’m in love with my career, I work for a wonderful firm based in Hawaii. I have a Boss that is not just a wonderful boss but a mentor and a friend that I love.  I do my best to not let him down… Ever!   My Dad taught us that ethics is the last thing anybody should ever lose, and I stick to that tradition to the end!  I’m passionate, temperamental, a go-getter, and a serious pain in the butt sometimes… but hey!! who is perfect… not me!I was married for 18 years with a good guy, and we were together for 26 years. We had 2 wonderful kids, however we just grew apart, we weren’t happy with each other for a long time, so we decided to part ways and start new lives. And that is where Bryan and I started our now almost 3-year journey.

About Bryan

Hello, my name is Bryan.  I have traveled a lot as well. When I was little, my mom was very involved in the racing world. We went everywhere there was a racetrack and all types of racing.  It wasn’t necessarily the most scenic or exotic place to go, but we traveled nonetheless.  A little later in life my mom became a travel agent.  Again, we traveled everywhere, but this time it was all the popular tourist sites.  As a kid it was awesome to go to places like the Bahamas, Hawaii, cruises, etc.  After high school I went into the military, did some crazy things and went to few cool places, and some of those places don’t even exist anymore.  After the military I got into the “aviation industry”, everywhere I went was “work” related and nothing for pleasure.  Ill have to admit that I like being on the road seeing new places, but my life didn’t allow me to be a tourist.  So, what did I do? I got married, changed careers, had kids, and then went absolutely nowhere.  Well, except for the occasional family get together’s (camping, beach, etc.).  My focus became my kids. We got into sports, clubs, and then found martial arts.  My son was in cub scouts, he had an event ATA local TaeKwonDo school one Saturday, by Monday we were enrolled as a family.  We did the TKD thing for many years, in the end my son, daughter and I all became black belts.  Then one day a new family shows up for class. It wasn’t long before Laura and I started training together, and we both discovered that we were in dead relationships. Time goes on, we both got divorced, and Laura and I decided to restart our lives together.  We discovered that we both would rather be on the go and seeing new things and having adventures than sitting at home just dreaming about it. So, we made a pact. We decided that we would go as much as we could afford and as our vacation banks renewed.
